Commemorated on the plaque at the Roman Catholic Church. Ralph Patrick Gwynne was born in India in 1895. He grew up at the St Pauls Home, Coleshill, and the Catholic Working Boys Home, in Aston, Warwickshire. In 1911 he was recorded in Aston as a Brass worker. Ralph Gwynne joined the 9th Battalion of the Worcestershire Regiment, which was formed at Worcester in August 1914. Private Gwynne (service number 13608) was killed in action on the 14th September 1918 in Mesopotamia. He is remembered on the Tehran Memorial, Iran. He received the 1914-15 Star, British and Victory medals.
