Edwin Walter Mallin was the son of Edwin G. and Lizzie Mallin. Born in Gravelley Hill in 1898, he lived with his parents in Northfield before moving to Coleshill. Private Mallin,service number 21968, was enlisted at Birmingham into 3rd battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment. He died on the Isle of Wight on 21 March 1917 and is buried in Coleshill Cemetery.

Possible that initials on Coleshill War Memorial are incorrect...Shown as F W rather than E W.
